A Conversation with Hao Xing
My interests have always been wandering between business, culture and art. From music creation, starting my own business to brand research, I have tried different things. I gradually discovered that traveling, photography and cultural observation are the passions that I have always maintained.
This is not a complete resume of mine, but rather some experiences, thoughts, and ongoing explorations.
Q. How would you introduce yourself?
I'm not quite used to defining myself by a certain occupation. Music, business, branding, travel and photography may seem like different fields, but they are all related to creating, expressing and understanding the world.
I enjoy getting in touch with new things and also relish seeking connections among different experiences.
Q. Why are you interested in culture?
I have always been curious about the history, religion, geography, culture and art of different societies, and also pay attention to fashion, brands and contemporary youth culture.
What I find interesting is not to learn about a single field in isolation, but to observe how they influence each other and shape our lives today.
Q. What have music, entrepreneurship and brand research brought to you?
Music led me to get involved in creation and expression. Starting a business made me think about how creativity can be transformed into practical value in reality, while brand research made me pay more attention to the cultural and social relationships behind business.
These experiences are not exactly the same, but they constantly influence the way I view things.
Q. What do you hope this website will become?
A place where one can record and express oneself for a long time.
I hope to preserve here the stories of my travels, my photographic works, my cultural observations, and some less formal daily thoughts.
It doesn't have to be complete from the very beginning; instead, it can gradually grow as I experience and think.
Q. What does traveling mean to you?
Traveling allows me to temporarily leave the familiar living environment and come into contact with different cultures and lifestyles.
I like those moments that are not included in the itinerary. A street passed by by chance, a building, a meal, or a simple exchange sometimes leaves a deeper impression on me than a famous scenic spot.
Q. Why do you like photography?
Photography was originally just a way to record life, but later it gradually became a habit.
I love architecture, scenery and daily details, but what always attracts me the most are those decisive moments that cannot be predicted. Light, people, environment and chance jointly determine a photo, and I like this process that cannot be fully controlled.
